We
have two residential treatment programs:
ORCA

beds for indigent, chemically dependent males.
This program provides ATOD assessments and a minimum of 30 hours of
alcohol and drug treatment services weekly that includes:
Individual/group therapy, job development classes, HIV/AIDS education,
recreation therapy, fatherhood, anger management, nutrition,
daily 12 step group involvement and random urinalysis.
Treatment duration is based on successful completion of
the treatment plan usually, up to 30 days.
ORCA
Women’s Residential Program: consists of 12 treatment
beds for indigent chemically dependent females.
The program provides ATOD assessment services and a
minimum of 30
hours of drug and alcohol treatment services a week.
Gender specific issues e.g., domestic violence, sexual
abuse, separation from children, dangers of substance abuse to
the unborn fetus and prenatal health/ nutrition are integrated
into the treatment regimen.
Urinalysis is requested regularly and randomly. Treatment
duration is based on successful completion of the treatment
plan, usually up to 30 days.
Family group sessions
are provided 1 evening each week for families of our residential
treatment programs. This
is an integral part of the treatment process. To
facilitate family participation, supervised child care services
are provided. Individual
family sessions are facilitated by the client’s primary
counselor.
ORCA
staff provide case management services to coordinate the
client’s total care. Staff
have regular contacts with staff from other organizations, such
as mental health agencies, who are also involved with ORCA
clients.
We
have two outpatient treatment programs:
The
Intensive Outpatient Program is a highly structured
treatment program which targets both male and females with
chemical dependency problems but have stable sober living
environments and/or viable employment.
The treatment services consist of individual/group
counseling, case management, recreational therapy,
vocational/educational counseling, parenting sessions,
legal/social service consultation, AIDS/HIV education, and transportation support.
This service focuses on topics and issues such as relapse
prevention, healthy relationship building, life skills, money
management, job retention, conflict management, open
communication and effective utilization of the 12 step principles.
Intensive Outpatient services are provided in 5 week blocks for 3 hours
Tuesday, through Friday with individual counseling, case
management and crisis intervention services offered, by
appointment each Monday. The
ORCA House IOP program
requests random urine screenings to insure optimum service
utilization and the most effective treatment delivery.
ORCA’s
Aftercare Program provides extended outpatient services,
at a lesser intensity than Intensive Outpatient, to chemically
dependent individuals for three
(3) months. Group
counseling is provided once a week with individual sessions
scheduled based on needs identified in the individual’s
treatment plan. Group
counseling focuses on relapse prevention and addresses issues
pertinent to achieving quality, continuous sobriety.
Focus is on same issues as Intensive Outpatient e.g.,
healthy relationships building, life skills, money management,
job retention, but at a lesser intensity of service provision.
Individual counseling is also provided and addresses
needs identified in the client’s treatment plan.
Our outpatient services provide a continuum of care for recovering
individuals. Many of
our residential clients, as well as residential clients from
other agencies, “step down” to our Intensive Outpatient
Program and then to our Aftercare Program
